Band practice

Yesterday the new band (still without a name, but we’re working on it) hooked up for the second time to practice a new song I’ve written called “Sympaticus” (will be on the new album). I decided to record our practice session just for fun and here is the result. But first a little defence speech. It is recorded with a shitty photo camera. The sound level in the booth is like 1000 db so it’s amazing there is any sound recorded at all. I could actually feel my intestins vibrate in there. Also, it is only the second practice session so we are not even close to thinking about going up on stage yet.

Anyways, here is the song. It might sound like total chaos, but believe me, in that room, it felt and sounded fucking awesome and we are getting better.

Drums: Eddy
Bass: Rob
Guitar & Backup vocals: Stefan
Guitar & Lead vocals: Daniel

Lyrics:

It started with a pounding heart and a pulse way off the chart
I met you at the pharmacist and I took you to my heart
Now I don’t mind cold hands and feet, it doesn’t bother me
Cause all of that propanolol sets me free

I know you will stay true to me
For better or for worse indeed

To calm my nerves and pat me on the back
For better or for worse always

Tell me doctor, tell me now, how many can I pop?
Just how many milligrams before my heart will stop
I even introduced you to all of my friends
But they don’t seem to like you so to hell with all of them

I hate to admit that I depend on you
I need you here with me in everything I do
I hate you so much, but I love you more
Cause in the end my life is better than before

New band

I’m in a new band which I am really excited about. We got a studio and rehearsal space of our own which is great. It means we can basically go there anytime we want and just rock the fuck out. There is also some great equipment like big ass Marshall stacks and stuff like that. It’s really professional. Stefan has made a great job.

We met for the first time a couple of days ago and just got to know each other and practiced a song of mine called “Sympaticus” which will be on the new album. Stefan could hit really high notes which meant we could sing some great harmonies. Everyone is really excited and I think this could turn out great.

By accident a great guy called Dimitri Keiski walked by our studio and we invited him to play with us which he did. He stayed for a while and picked up the chords and structure of the song really fast. I guess punk isn’t really his thing and I’m sure to him we probably sounded like chimpanzees on crack, but I hope he had a good time because we sure did. Check him out at http://www.myspace.com/gypsysheart.

I am still busting my ass off on the new album. I got some time to work on it now so hopefully it will be released during the summer.
